After a 3 month nationwide poll, Chevrolet Philippines celebrates the victory of the Chevy Cruze as it emerges victorious in the compact sedan category for the 2010-2011 Autofocus People's Choice awards having garnered 2,927 votes.

The all-new Chevrolet Cruze is a compact sedan with performance, style, practicality and dependability in one taut and handsome package. It is offered in L, LS and LT variants and boasts of a 1.8-liter 138-hp engine, six-speed manual and automatic transmissions, 17-inch wheels, four-wheel disc brakes with antilock brake system (ABS) and electronic brake force distribution (EBD), dual and side airbags, and even electronic traction control (ETC) for the LT level.

Chevrolet also proudly tops off the fight in the different categories as the Chevrolet Suburban wins a noble second place in the Large SUV category and the highly coveted Chevrolet Camaro and the all-time favorite Chevrolet Captiva gallantly landed third in the Sports Car and Compact SUV categories, respectively.

Voting for this year's polls were done either through ballots that appeared every Wednesday in the motoring section of the Philippine Star or via Top Gear Magazines that were printed in July, August and September this year. On-line votes were also cast through the Auto Focus website of one vote per duly registered e-mail address during the 3-month nationwide public poll period.

This year marks the 6th staging of the Auto Focus Automobile of the Year - People's Choice Awards which was presented by BDO is slated on November 4-7, 2010 at the SM Mall of Asia open grounds. Visitors can check out the latest line-up of Chevy vehicles and even test drive some of the units just before they buy a new car for the Christmas season. On display will be the Chevy Cruze, the Chevrolet Suburban, the Chevrolet Captiva and the iconic Camaro. This annual exercise that empowers the car-owning public to express their choices and preferences among current-model automobiles available in the country was conceptualized and is organized by Sunshine Television (STV) through the initiative of its Chairman and CEO, Ray Butch Gamboa.
